Your monsters, knights, wizards, and dragons were ultimately inadequate towards the protection of your tower. Please find that I've made off with most of your treasure (you can keep the drain potions, thanks) and the two chicks you had stashed on the top floor. Please reconsider your safety measures next time.

Ever since I finished Solomon's Key, I've been itching to take down another classic old game, Arino Style! XD Sadly, considering I'm lucky if I can cobble 20 minutes into a day to play ANY old console games, I haven't really been able to. I also blame New Super Mario Bros. [COUGH] And I've been considering many titles to choose from... Kid Icarus, UN Squadron, Star Fox, Super Ghouls and Ghosts. Lots. But I just haven't had time.
Well, for some reason, I got it into my head that Tower of Druaga, just HAD to have some sort of hidden continue code in it because it's illogical for Namco to have actually believed ANYONE could ever make it up all 60 floors without continues. Especially considering the game's almost random, luckless modes of death sometimes. I did enough research and found just that. A continue code. Tested it out on my copy of Namco Museum DS and sure enough, it worked! So, I decided to take down the game once and for all. Didn't really keep track of the time, but I'd say it was probably at least 6 hours worth of effort. Most of it was fairly easy, even if I Game Overed once every other floor. The only "iron wall" I hit was during the final battle on floor 59. The thing is, to make Druaga appear, you have to kill certain enemies in order. I guess you could call them mini bosses. The fast Knight who can kill you even if you hit him head on with your sword drawn, the Wizard who knows after image and attempts to catch you in a cross fire between himself and his images and guessing which one's the right one and actually nailing him before he totally kills you is usually a bet you lose, and the dragon who's laughibly easy if you got all the required items. Of course, first you must kill the two wizards that pop up and attack from time to time. Otherwise you'll be dealing with 6 wizards later on. ;_; And killing the Knight seems like a gamble since he kills you half the time even if there should be no way for him TO kill you. I only made to Druaga himself about 4 or 5 times (out of hundreds of tries... Probably), finally beating him while in the car, on the way to pick up a pizza for dinner. The end screen was a simple, "Congratulations" with three or four credits. All in all, I had fun but Namco needed to work a little more on the game's hit detection.
What's next? Who knows! I still have to do World 9 in New Mario AND it dawns on me that I might be getting the new Zelda for Christmas and I still haven't beaten the Four Swords or Minish Cap...
